Before moving to Rome Mall Apartments four and a half years ago, Gloria Garcia spent much of her time alone. Socializing wasn't part of her daily routine, and she often kept to herself.

Today, her life looks very different.

She stays active by participating in the gardening club, attending community potlucks, playing monthly BINGO, and joining nearly every activity offered in the building. It's common to find Gloria in the community room chatting with friends, sharing laughs, and encouraging others to get involved.

"Keeping busy keeps me going every day," she says.

One of her favorite memories is winning the building's holiday door decorating contest. Gloria proudly designed a cheerful snowman display that earned first place—a moment she still talks about with a smile.

Living at Rome Mall Apartments has also changed the way Gloria views aging.

"It helped me realize that seniors matter," she says. "And it helped me understand the aging process."
